The third annual Market Street Arts Festival included a wide variety of performances in several venues: a downtown outdoor stage, the Sons of Italy Hall, Christ Church Anglican, and the wharf. Plus, our mascot, giant puppet Artie Brown, will make special appearances.
Highlights of the 2013 festival will include:
Sons of Italy Hall:
Cello Fury: cello rock powerhouse featuring three cellists and a drummer
Acoustic Shadows of the Blue and Gray: Vocal and instrumental ensemble performing music of the Civil War era
Marylloyd Claytor Dance Company: New modern dance works
Christ Church Anglican:
Joanie Brittingham in Recital: Classical and musical theatre favorites performed by soprano Joanie Brittingham of New York City (originally from Uniontown).
Market Street Academy Student Recital: Local voice, piano, and guitar students of all ages perform classical and contemporary selections.
Mon Yough Community Singers: Choral ensemble from White Oak, PA
Riversong: Eclectic string and vocal ensemble
Outdoor stage:
Panther Hollow String Band: Traditional old-time Appalachian music on fiddle, banjo, bass, mandolin, and guitar.
Trumpets of Joy: Gospel Quartet
Calypso Gypsies: steel drum ensemble
Ray Owen: Grammy-nominated songwriter performing musical tributes to the region’s history
Jerry Haines: family friendly folk music
Pat Septak: accordianist
James Tobin: Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist from Ambridge, PA playing a variety of original and cover songs.
Christian Sesek: Rat Pack vocal selections
Jim Platt: singer/songwriter
